Didn't save as much as I had originally planned, but didn't do too bad considering I had no Extra Care Bucks to roll over into this purchase.
1st check-out: Teva pads- $9.95- $2.50 coupon= $7.49/ $8.09 with tax. Got back $9.99 in Extra Care Bucks = this item was basically free with 'benefits'!
2nd check-out:
Irish Spring body wash: $2.99-50cent coupon- $2.45- Extra Care Bucks: $2.25
Irish Spring deodorant: $2.99-$1.00 coupon = $1.99- Extra care bucks: $2.25
Oral B toothbrushes- 2 for $4.50-75 cent coupon= $3.75
-$9.99 e.c.b= $1.31
ecb received from this check-out; $4.50
To total: I spent $9.40, and with the $4.50 ecb received for next purchase = total cost: $4.90
I have realized the key to this is buying things that you get the most E.C.B. for and have coupons for. I still left CVS with a feeling of elation because essentially, I saved a wad of cash, and 2: I did the multiple checkout thing with no problem, except that I think I stressed out the clerk a bit :)
on another note: I went to Walgreens on Monday, where they had a BOGO sale on Right Guard deodorant. I also had 2 BOGO coupons. SO: four full size deodorants were absolutely, 100% FREE! woo hoo!
Kudos to my friend, Callie, for showing me the beauty of CVS!
I <3 CVS!
Good job! Hope my coupons are helping, too!
